Who is Word to Dreams?

So how's everyone doing?  Seriously, let's hear from you all.  The comments sections are there for your use and I'm interested in hearing about you!

Let's see....maybe I should tell you a bit about myself.....

Fortysomething years ago I came crying into this world and my sister cried because I wasn't a boy.  From an early age she wanted to trade me for the neighbors son.  Luckily for me, they wouldn't have it.  Unfortunately for her, she's stuck with me.

A child of the big hair, Duran Duran, Breakfast Club 80's. I could never pull off the big hair though, mine's just too fine and ever so straight. Ugh!

John Taylor is YUMMY!

I am a mom of 4. His, mine and ours. The youngest are twin girls who are 14 and well, I think the 14 says it all. My oldest daughter is 19. She was all into manga until I started showing her all the interesting YA books out there. Funny, you would think she'd be the one recommending books to me. Who knew! The oldest, Blake, he recently graduated from USAF fire fighting training and has started his military career at his first duty station. A new life adventure has started for him.

I love to read. I have since I was a wee child. Hated, and I mean hated Billy Goats Gruff. My parents had to bribe me into reading it in 1st grade. My teacher thought I may have had a reading problem, my parents knew that couldn't be the issue, and boy was my dad surprised when I told him what an awful story it was and I wasn't wasting my time on that when I could be reading a perfectly good Nancy Drew mystery. Not sure how they got me to read it for school, but it's still stuck in my memory.  Oh, and the talking to I got in kindergarten for not coloring in one direction.  Sheesh!  I was 5, not Michelangelo!

I love just about all books. I don't like westerns, light detective (ie Murder She Wrote), and I'm not a big fan of biographies. My favorite writer of horror is Bentley Little, Chick Lit's fit when I'm in the mood for something I don't really have to think about and Young Adult is my more serious reading. Sci Fi I go in cycles with. Not big on fantasy though. Every once in a while you'll see me reading something more adult, but lately with all the awesome YA books coming out I've had to shelve most of those.

I'm a co-mod of the Goodreads group, Never Too Old for YA Books.  The group has lots of author interviews, fun items, read 4 reviews, books of the month, themes, scavenger hunts, readalongs, etc.

Along with this blog I started up a Facebook page to go along with it.  I was on the fence for a long time about that, but there were times I'd see funny pics that I'd like to share with you all, but of course nobody wants to see a blog posting of a single pic or saying.

What else do I do/like?  I was a Girl Scout leader for several years, than the girls hit the clique age and I was soooo not going there.  They are still in, my oldest is actually a lifetime member.  It's looking like next year I may be back in the leader saddle though, but the youngest will be in high school so it won't be that bad.  Right?

I love movies.  My all time favorite is The Man From Snowy River.  My favorite scary movie is The Exorcist.  Believe me, it still creeps me out.  The funny part...whenever I was pregnant I would fall asleep watching it.  Recently I watched Ted and I haven't laughed so much throughout a movie in ages.  My favorite genre of movies?  Scifi baby!  Nothing like a good alien movie to make my day.  And yes, I do watch the cheesy scifi movies on tv just because they are so cheesy I can't take my eyes away.

TV...my favorite show is Doctor Who.  Yes world, I am a Whovian.  Other than that, I love a good comedy.  Have you seen Guys with Kids?  The New Normal?  Raising Hope?  OMG!  I LOVE THESE SHOWS!  Oh, and Suburgatory.  Totally addicted!  I recently got hooked on the US version of Being Human, thanks to the marathon my hubby watched.  Now, they've cancelled one of the shows that I was soooo looking forward to coming back, Jane by Design.  Fashion, quirks, fun...all wrapped into one.  Jerks.  But I still get this, minus fun but added mystery in Pretty Little Liars.  I watch this with my girls and we love it!  And the fact that they do Halloween specials, how cool is that?!    You're probably wondering when I get to watch all these.  Well, that's where my DVR comes in.  I don't think I've watched a show in it's actual time slot in weeks.

I work full time as a judicial clerk.  Not as glamorous or exciting as it sounds.  Most days it's busy though, so before I know it I'm back home and chilling.

If you every saw me driving down the road, you'd be laughing.  I don't just sing with the radio, I full out own it.  Oh, and if I had to get a job singing, I'd be the most unemployed person out there.  Yep, pitchy doesn't even touch what I sound like.  My poor coworkers..we are in one open office and I sing with the lone radio.  Oh well, it gets me through the day.

Coming in February I will have some cover reveals, blog tours, reviews, etc for you.  Now, I have a question for you...what am I missing?  What gets your attention?  What could I do to make everyone comment, interact, etc?  I want this blog to be a fun place for you to come and enjoy what you're reading or seeing, so let me know what I can do for you!

Okay, I added the last picture because it's just so damn cute!
